First impressions are the ones that count and those of Maritim pro Arte are fantastic! We are welcomed by a huge entrance hall bustling with activity. Currently the delegates of the DGINA Congress have taken over the hotel.
We meet Regional Director Bernhard Dohne, member of the Kongress-Beirat (Congress Council), and head of the Maritim Hotel in Berlin Mitte. This is a case of northerner meets northerner, and it strikes me once again that everybody knows everybody else up north. So, Mr. Dohne and Judith first have to sort out who comes exactly from where.
But then curiosity wins. We are particularly interested to learn what the Congress Council actually does and why it is so interesting and important for Berlin .
Berlin’s congress and event industry seems to be working very hard on the city’s further development and on generating synergies to make the metropolis attractive for event organisers both now and in future. We find this topic simply fascinating, so we also meet the head of the marketing pillar “Meetings, Trade Fairs and Congresses” Mr. Michael Czernik. More on this later.
But for now, let’s get back to DGINA, as today’s topic is science. For some years this congress has been hosted at Maritim hotel, because it offers perfect conditions for the congress. We meet Ms. Schrader, organiser of this event. And now we walk down aisles filled with information-hungry medical professionals and many well-frequented booths. It’s fascinating to simply watch and eavesdrop a little. If you want to know more, just visit www.dgina.de
